News from Years 7 - 9
Last Wednesday our Year 9 students took to the city, as planned, amidst the chaos and uncertainty following the damaging storms.
They were so impressive! With some guidance and preparation from teachers back at school, they all successfully navigated their own way to the meeting point at Flinders St Station by the agreed time. After a quick check-in they were off on a CBD Scavenger Hunt!
10 different groups, consisting of approximately 5-8 students, had to work together as a team, communicate well, negotiate, and at times compromise, to find as many items as they could on their Scavenger Hunt list.
Throughout the day every group went up to the 88th floor of the Eureka Tower on Southbank to take in Melbourne and its surrounds from the Skydeck, whilst also hopefully adding to their sense of direction and bearings.
All in all over 30 locations and activities were ticked off collectively, with some groups completing as many as 25 out of a possible 35!
Well done to everyone for such a positive day. We are looking forward to coming back into the city later in the term to visit the Big Issue Classroom on March 5 and then for our City Camp beginning March 18.
