Harmony Day Concert

Harmony Day Concert Thursday 21st March is Harmony Day. Harmony Day is a day to celebrate and recognises our diversity and bring together Australians from all different backgrounds.

It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. As part of our Harmony Day celebrations at Kalinda Primary School, we will be holding a concert on Thursday 21st March from 2:00-3:20pm.

This concert will be full of dancing, singing and music from a variety of cultures around the world. Every student from Foundation to Grade 6 will be performing.

Family and friends are invited to attend to watch the concert.

There is no cost and you are not required to have tickets.

If there are accessibility needs we should be aware of (eg: wheelchair access required etc) please email sarah.butler@education.vic.gov.au

We look forward to seeing you at our Harmony Day Concert!

THRASS information sessions for parents

Are you hearing all about THRASS from your child/ren and want to know more?

Have you been wanting to help in our classrooms to support student learning?

If you answered yes then we would love to invite you to an information afternoon or night where we will discuss what THRASS is and how it helps with reading and writing. We will also discuss the most research-informed ways to help children in the classroom and at home if you are not a teacher.

There are two sessions for you to choose from:

Monday 18th of March 6:30pm in the Library.

Or

Tuesday 18th of March at 9:15 am in the Multi-purpose room (where Theircare is held)

*Please note, these two sessions have been scheduled to allow parents to access the most convenient time. The sessions will be identical, there is no need to attend both.

These sessions will not be recorded. However, we are happy to share our presentation materials with you, please email Natasha Weekes if you would like to see these.

State Schools Relief

From Monday 27th November 2023, there were some changes to vouchers issued to families from State School Relief.

Key changes are :

  1. Rather than part reimbursement per item, all vouchers issued from 27th November 2023 have a dollar value
  2. Each voucher will have a value of $85
  3. There will now be a limit of 1 voucher per application and a maximum of 3 vouchers per student/per calendar year
  4. SSR vouchers will be valid for 3 months from the date of issue
  5. Vouchers can be used to purchase any item/s at any uniform supplier or school shop.
  6. It’s important to note that since there will be limits on how many vouchers can be provided per student/per year, the vouchers should only be used to purchase items that cannot be provided directly by SSR
  7. We will provide a link on our website ( SSR)  where families can track the expiry and remaining balance of their vouchers.

Please note that it will be handled in a discreet and confidential manner. Come and speak to the office staff, or Shaun McClare or Lauren Hopkins.
