Building routines in our daily organisation

Our students are working together with class and community to create predictable and safe routines that support learning opportunities. Our staff are working together with students and collegues to create a low variance, knowledge rich curriculum experience for students using evidence, feedback and moderation to plan, teach and asses.

We invite you to also work with us to build routines to support your children in experiencing a safe and respectful learning community. Some quick opportunities for your family to build routines that will support our school wide expectations are:

  1. plan arrival time to avoid the worst traffic and give your child time to catch up with friends before school starts. Arrival at 8.30 will allow you to avoid the worst of the traffic and give your child 10 minutes of fun with friends. This reduces anxiety, prepares for a good day and allows for building relationships with students and staff.
  2. encourage independence in an age appropriate way. This may be packing own lunch, having bag ready to carry in to school, give small responsibilities such as dropping something to the office or remembering to bring jacket home.
  3. encourage good sleep patterns, healthy eating and participating in exercise or team sport, be aware of the risk of devices in the bedroom which may interrupt sleep or put your child at risk of cyber bullying.

Our Bethany building is currently undergoing a renovation which will create some excellent learning spaces for students. The design is to permit a community feel, with lines of sight, shared gathering space and connections between each room while still maintaining a sense of individual learning space for each class.
