A Message from

Hannah & Keir

“We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, the first people to dream, create, wonder, dance, play and learn on this breathtaking land. This land was cared for and respected for tens of thousands of years. The First Nations people lived in companionship with the animals and the life on this land. We acknowledge that this is stolen land and we pay our respects to elders, past, present and emerging.”

School Times

We have noticed that some students are being dropped off quite early in the morning and being picked up later in the afternoon. We understand that this might be to take advantage of the pleasant weather, but we want to remind families that students are only supervised in the BNWPS yard between the hours of 8.45am and 3.45pm. While there are often staff members on site, they are not actively supervising students outside. If you are dropping children off before 8.45am or picking them up after 3.45pm, they need to have a parent or carer with them or otherwise be enrolled in the OSHC program.

No Smoking or Vaping on School Grounds

We would like to remind everyone that it is illegal to smoke or to vape anywhere within or near school grounds. Anyone who is smoking or vaping must be at least five metres from the boundary and fence line. We thank you for your cooperation.

School Council Elections

Each year School Council elections take place in Term 1 with the process reaching completion by the end of March. Principals are responsible for conducting the election in accordance with Departmental Guidelines; School Council Elections are part of Ministerial Order No 52.

Nominations for elections are now open with information on the nomination/election process and how you can get involved in our School Council and its Sub Committees regularly included in the newsletters throughout term 1.

While we try to be paper-free where possible, nominations must be made on paper -  forms can be found at the school office. If you are unable to attend the office during nominations, you can ask someone to nominate on your behalf. If you are keen to find out more information on our school council elections, please read the PDF below. The first page shares information about the school council, the second page explains how to nominate and outlines the timeline for this election.

Maintenance Person Required

We are calling out for a parent, carer or community member who might be interested and available to complete small maintenance tasks around the school. The person would need to have knowledge and experience in minor maintenance/repair work, a current working with children check and a desire to help make our wonderful school even better and safer for all. The position would be paid at casual rates and while we are flexible to work around people’s availability, we would need someone to be available approximately one day each fortnight.

If this sounds like something that would interest you or if you have any questions about the role, please contact Audrie in person at the front office, by calling the school or via email (Audrie.SextonMcGuire@education.vic.gov.au).
