From the Principal

This Herald I wish to underscore the invaluable role that school camps play in the development of our students. At LCS, we firmly believe in providing experiences that extend beyond the classroom, and school camps serve as a cornerstone in this endeavour.

Fostering Resilience and Independence: School camps offer students a unique opportunity to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new challenges. Whether it's navigating through wilderness trails, participating in team-building activities, or learning essential social skills, these experiences instil resilience and foster a sense of independence among our students. Through overcoming obstacles and embracing unfamiliar situations, students develop the confidence to confront challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Promoting Social and Emotional Growth: In today's interconnected world, social and emotional intelligence are paramount. School camps provide a conducive environment for students to develop meaningful relationships, practice effective communication, and cultivate empathy. Whether it's collaborating on a group project, sharing stories around a campfire, or supporting each other during outdoor adventures, students learn the importance of teamwork, empathy, and mutual respect, skills that are essential for success in all facets of life.

In an increasingly digital world, school camps offer a much-needed respite from screens and technology. Immersed in the beauty of nature, students develop a deeper appreciation for the environment and have a unique opportunity to soak in the enormity of God’s creation. From stargazing under the open sky, to exploring diverse ecosystems, or visiting mainland cities with their universities, museums and galleries, school camps provide a platform for students to connect with God through nature and through their experiences.

Cultivating Lifelong Memories: The memories created during school camps often remain etched in the hearts and minds of students for years to come. Whether it's conquering a fear, achieving a personal milestone, growing in relationship with God, or simply sharing laughter with friends, these experiences create lasting bonds and memories. School camps not only enrich the academic journey but also contribute to the tapestry of experiences that define our students' lives.

In conclusion, school camps are much more than just recreational outings; they are invaluable learning opportunities that nurture character, foster relationships, and ignite a passion for exploration.

Thank you for embracing the transformative power of school camps and as LCS continues to provide our students with experiences that inspire, empower, and enrich their lives.
