R.E. News
This week the Project Compassion box was sent home. Project Compassion is an initiative of Caritas Australia. During Lent, we are asked to support this fundraising project by donating money.
In 2024 Project Compassion is working towards empowering young people to build a just future for themselves, their families and their communities.
On Monday at Assembly, our Justice and Service student leaders Finlay and Mitchell spoke to the school about Project Compassion.
- What is Project Compassion? Project Compassion is Australia’s main fundraising campaign run by Caritas Australia and helps to relieve poverty in less fortunate communities.
- Why give money to project compassion? If you can spare money it is important to donate to project compassion because it helps communities in countries that are less fortunate than us.
- Where is the money going? The money goes to countries that need support and need money to make their life better or they use it to give to people that survived natural disasters
- When do the Project Compassion Boxes need to be returned? They need to be returned by the end of Term 1.
