We are off to a fantastic start in EAL this year. The students have all settled into their classrooms nicely, allowing for a smooth transition into the EAL program for new students. 

This term we have already covered the following topics:

  • Introduction to the Classroom; toilets, bag, drink bottle ect.
  • Set up EAL books
  • About me
  • How to greet people and say "How are you?"
  • On the weekend..
  • Feelings
  • Family members
  • Where do you live? Where are you from?
  • Compound words
  • Synonyms
  • Different foods

Here are some easy tips to assist with English at home:

 

-I have briefly introduced the students to a show called Alphablocks- I showed students a quick snippet of an episode and encouraged them to watch it at home. It can help improve reading and vocabulary for students. 

-Reading Eggs is a great resource that our students get access to. Students should have received their login and password but if you need it again please contact your child's classroom teacher. 

 

-Get your child to listen to appropriate English songs:
