A friendly reminder to all parents/guardians that Monday 4th March is a Pupil Free day while staff undertake Berry Street training. The following Monday (11th March) is also a public holiday for the Labour Day long weekend.
Star students:
Foundation: Daniella Smith- For using her reading tools to help sound out words.
Year 1 & 2: Ashton Bartlett- For having a positive mindset towards his literature tasks.
Year 3 & 4: Thomas McGurk- For his hardworking attitude and going out of his way to get tasks done.
Year 5 & 6: Chace Hooper-Dixon- For being enthusiastic about all tasks and giving them a go.
Book Recommendation
Tom McGurk recommended ‘Alex Rider Stormbreaker’, by Anthony Horowitz. This is a graphic novel set in an MI6 training academy which is like an army base and a town cemetery. There are many main characters, Mr Grich (evil), Alex (Spy), Mr Blunt (MI6 Boss) and Miss Volcher (Computer). Alex's uncle is murdered to make Alex a spy, so he finds out that the StormBreaker is evil. Tom rates it 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommends it for students in year 2-5.
Chinese New Year Celebration Day
Friday our F-6 students took part in the Chinese New Year Celebration Day. Students did an amazing job dressing up in red and taking part in a variety of different activities. Students took part in rice ball making, Chinese tea tasting and dragon craft. A huge thank you goes to Mrs Yap for organising the activities and making the day run so smoothy, the students absolutely loved it. Thank you to all staff that helped out across the day and made it so enjoyable.

Monday Assembly
Year 5/6 students were reading a story 'case of the missing key' in literacy during the week and inquired into "what happened next". Students were given the task to complete their own creative ending to the story and presented it at Monday mornings assembly. All students did an amazing job presenting in front of students, staff and parents and we look forward to hearing many more creative stories throughout the year.
