Prep Update

Upcoming learning:

During the next fortnight, Prep students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:

Reading	Week 6 and 7: We will engage in daily Phonics lessons, focusing on the letter sounds of /a/ and /p/ following the Little Learners Love Literacy sequence. We will also be learning to break words into parts (syllables).
Writing	Week 6 and 7: We will practice using the correct pencil grip and engage in a range of fine motor activities. We will learn the correct letter formation of the letters /a/ and /p/.
Maths	Week 6: We will be focusing on mass and capacity using the language of 'heavier/lighter' and 'full/empty' to compare objects. Week 7: We will be focusing on statistics by learning to formulate and answer yes/no questions.
Inquiry	Week 6 and 7: Our focus is identity. We will be looking at parts of the body and personal hygiene.
Social and Emotional	Week 6 and 7: Students will continue learning about the Zones of Regulation and how an understanding of our emotions can support us at school. We will also be looking at 'big and little problems' and different strategies we can use to navigate these.

Please ensure all belongings including hats and jumpers are clearly labelled.
All students need a sun smart hat to be able to play outside. These can be purchased at the front office.
Family fun night: Tuesday 19th March 3.30-5.15pm on the synthetic oval. We would love to see everyone there with their families. Please remember that this is a parent supervised event.
