Foundation Learning Community

The Foundation children have been superstars during their first four weeks of school.

They have settled in and have been trying their best with all of their learning.

The children have now been introduced to 3 letters and their corresponding sound. They can continue practising their keyrings by saying the Chitter Chatter Chant - they can show you what they do at school with these.

When filling in the home reading book, you can just write the activity that your child has completed that day - whether that be practising their keyring, being a sound detective, writing learnt letters or having their library book read to them by an adult or older sibling.

For any other ideas of activities your child could complete, please refer to the parent email that was sent on the 5th of February and keep your eyes peeled for our section of the newsletter as we will post a new idea that the children can complete at home each fortnight.

Next week we will also be sending home a Partner Practise sheet with your child, this is where you and your child can take turns saying the sounds and tracing the letters on the sheet. Your child can be the teacher and can explain how this works! Each week the sheet will be updated so that they can continue practising previously learnt sounds.

Next week your child will be bringing home a clear folder inside their reader folder. This is to keep their keyring, home reading book and partner practise sheets extra safe and protected from items that might leak through bags.

Our Fete baskets are in our room ready to be filled with any donations. FST have a 'Baby' themed basket and FKO have a 'Dress up' themed basket. We thank you for your generosity.

You will have received an email on  Wednesday about our upcoming Teddy Bears Picnic on the 20th March. You will need to log into PAM to give permission for your child to attend, the note also includes what your child will need to bring on the day.

Thank you for your ongoing support
