North West Music Festival
Last Thursday, 75 students from Year 6 travelled to The Concourse in Chatswood to perform in the North West Music Festival. We had schools travel all across Sydney to join in the combined choir performance.
We had to arrive at 6S before 8:30am to count the Altos and Sopranos. Then we jumped on the bus and headed straight for rehearsals. After a significant amount of practice beforehand, we got to leave with our parents for an early dinner.
When we arrived back at 6pm, we performed the real concert with many other talented musicians, performances and of course; us! The songs that we sang were: Jungle Rhythm, Start the Engine, The Dolphin, The Call, Goodbye Captain, Hola Ola, I Don’t Want To Live On The Moon, Get That Fly.
It was wonderful to see all our hard work over the last year practicing the songs come together.
Our favourite part was looking out into the audience and seeing our families and Miss O’Malley and Miss Wright.
A big thank you to Miss Phillips, Mr Barrett and Miss Westwood. Without them organising, the whole day wouldn’t exist.
