Cross Country
Congratulations again to all of our Grade 3-6 students who participated in the District Schools Cross Country Day on Friday 1st May at Wesley Hill. You should all feel very proud of your effort and achievement.
Well done to all students who qualified for, and participated in round two, the Division Cross Country Event, which was held today at Wesley Hill Recreation Reserve. It was such a wonderful event and I enjoyed supporting our students, and the students of our district.
Our students represented our school beautifully, with amazing respect and resilience!
Thank you to families for your support in enabling your children to participate in this event.
Congratulations to Clancy who is eligible to participate in the next round of cross country - the regional event. Well done on a massive achievement! Once again, well done to all or our students who participated today - a huge achievement and a wonderful effort!
All classes have been warming up with skipping over the last few weeks to commence our PE sessions, which has been nice given the cooler weather we have been experiencing on many mornings! It has been a delight to observe student enjoyment in both individual and group skipping and the development of their skills in such a short time.
This week our Grade F/1 and Grade 2/3 students continued developing and refining their kicking skills through different drills and games. The growing confidence, enthusiasm and effort our students demonstrate is heart warming.
Our senior students have been focusing on further developing their kicking skills and applying them in a soccer game context. It was wonderful to observe some great skills and terrific team work this week.
Our health focus this term on Social and Emotional Wellbeing is providing us with great opportunities for discussions around valuing the self and others, and the importance of connection. The students are highly engaged in these discussions. This week we discussed friendship qualities and skills, respect and empathy. Looking forward to further exploration of this topic and continued thoughtful discussions over the remainder of the term.
