Mrs Labios joins the team after many years of Church ministry and leadership, community advocacy work, and support roles in schools. Mrs Labios also holds a Masters degree in Counselling, and she is passionate about her work with children and young people. Mrs Labios and I will be working together to support students and families in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.

New Wellbeing Hub
I am also pleased to announce that Christway’s Student Wellbeing Hub is up and running. The Student Wellbeing Hub is a building that has been rejuvenated to cater for the wellbeing needs of our growing student population. The building contains office spaces, rooms for counselling and pastoral care services, a calming/sensory room, and an interactive space for running preventive intervention programs and group activities for students.

Referrals & Programs
We will continue to run intervention programs to enhance students’ wellbeing in 2024. Already this year, the team has run a wellbeing orientation program for the new students to the college and is working with teachers and Learning Assistants to support our new students to settle in well.
Please contact your child/children’s teachers or the Wellbeing team to discuss referrals for counselling/pastoral care supports and advertised programs.

Managing screen time and video gaming
Save the Date and Register: Monday, 18th March, 6.30-7.30 pm
We continue to work with our community partners to run beneficial programs for parents. Christway College in partnership with IPC Health and the Salvation Army’s CaPSS program will be running an hour session on managing screen time and gaming on Monday, 18th March, from 6.30 to 7.30 pm in the College chapel.
Children are spending excessive amounts of time on their screens and video games, and it can be challenging for parents to get their kids off the screens. This session will equip parents with some strategies on how to support their children to manage screen time. If you would like to attend, please use the barcode on the flyer to register.
