We welcome the first month of school with excitement and busyness of learning and connecting. It was wonderful to greet our new staff, families and students and watch them quickly settle into our Christway family.  We celebrate our College family as it grows, and we unite in love and harmony.

We welcome our parents on site, to our Monday Assembly (8:50am, Primary and Secondary on alternate weekly), Friday Worship (8:50am) and Chapel which is 9:10am to 10am on the following days:

Prep to Year 2: Tuesday

Year 3 to 6: Thursday

Year 7 to 9: Friday

We also encourage our parents to enter the gates in the morning and after school to collect their children.

College Staff Dedication 2024

On Sunday 11 February, Christway College had their Staff Dedication Service at Wyndham City Church, with Ps Dan Parker and Ps Chris Davis. It was a time to welcome the College staff and pray for the school year ahead.

We acknowledged and were extremely grateful for the commitment and hard work of the College staff and embrace 2024 with joy and excitement. The Church community also had the opportunity to meet the Executive Principal - Damian Higgins and Head of Kingston Campus - Jason Burgess. We were also blessed to have the Church Elders and College Board present at the service.

The Message from the Parent Information Evening

We welcome you all to start our new year together. We start as Christway College - Wyndham, it is a joy that we start this sacred journey of education and faith together.

In the tapestry of our College Family, each individual is a vital thread, weaving together knowledge and spirituality, fostering an environment where minds and hearts are nurtured, challenged and loved. It is with great excitement and hope that we embark on this adventure of shaping young minds, instilling values that echo the teachings of Christ, and guiding our students towards a path of both academic and spiritual growth.

Our College Family is unique, and our school is beautiful; however, there is a greater component and that is how we are all stewards of a profound mission – to illuminate the minds of our students with the brilliance of knowledge and to ignite their souls with the warmth of Christian love.

Our staff’s dedication is the beacon that lights the way for our students, helping them to navigate the complexities of life with faith as their compass. Our classrooms are filled with the spirit of inquiry, kindness, and the transformative power of Christ's teachings.

Our teaching staff, leverage a range of the 21st century capabilities to ensure they meet the evolving needs of students and prepare them for success in an increasingly complex and fast-moving world. They have created high learning expectations in this dynamic learning environment, that empowers students to grow academically, personally, and in Christ’s Way.

Incorporating the development of these essential 21st Century skills into the school environment is vital for preparing students for success in the modern world. Here's how each skill can be fostered within school and home.

Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving:

  • Integrate problem-solving activities into various subjects and projects.
  • Encourage students to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and explore multiple perspectives.
  • Teach specific critical thinking strategies and provide opportunities for their application.

Collaboration Across Networks and Leading by Influence:

  • Assign group projects that require cooperation and communication among peers.
  • Provide opportunities for students to work with individuals across year levels.

Agility and Adaptability:

  • Design a flexible curriculum that allows for adjustments based on students' needs and interests.
  • Offer interdisciplinary projects that require students to apply knowledge and skills in different contexts.
  • Encourage resilience in the face of challenges and provide opportunities for reflection and growth.

Initiative and Innovation

  • Encourage students to take ownership of their learning and pursue independent and group projects.
  • Provide opportunities for students to identify problems in their community and develop solutions.
  • Teach skills related to innovation, risk-taking, and opportunity recognition.

Effective Oral and Written Communication:

  • Incorporate activities that develop speaking and writing skills into the curriculum.
  • Provide regular opportunities for students to practice presenting their ideas.

Curiosity and Imagination:

  • Encourage exploration and inquiry-based learning by allowing students to pursue topics of interest.
  • Provide opportunities for creative expression through art, music, drama, and storytelling.
  • Incorporate hands-on activities and open-ended projects that spark students' imagination and creativity.
  • By intentionally integrating these skills into school and life , we foster a supportive learning environment, we can empower students to thrive academically, professionally, and personally.
  • All members of our College from office staff, learning assistants, counsellors, grounds, ICT and teaching staff are bound together by a shared commitment to provide a nurturing environment rooted with love, and this is where student’s capabilities grow. All staff support and uplift one another, creating an environment where they care for one another, and this is the foundation of how our students thrive and grow.

NAPLAN 2023

We were also excited to share the Academic Achievements of our College, that last year’s NAPLAN results placed us third in the western region, this is a wonderful achievement. The growth of student learning was tremendous in two years. Our expectations of our students are high, and it is our staff who implement these programs.
