Around the College

We have had a great start to 2024 with so many activities happening already! Students are settling back into routines and teachers are excited to be back in the classrooms!

Welcome to our Year 7s!

Mrs. Cassidy - Year 7 Wellbeing Leader and our Year 7 Homeroom teachers - Mrs. Van Dillen, Mrs. Leslie, Mrs. Stein, and Mr. Newton welcomed 93 Year 7s to our College on Wednesday 31st January! 

Year 12 Retreat

Our Year 12 retreat was held at Grantville between Wednesday 31st January and Friday 2nd February. Workshops with the Passionist Youth Retreat Team, JJAMM Jingles, letter writing, team building/leadership activities, art activity, campfire, dusk walk, and canoeing were some of the activities!

Year 8 Camp

Year 8s headed off to Waratah Bay Beach Camp on Wednesday 8th February for three days of activities and fun! Surfing, high swing, climbing, games, and beach walks are all highlights! 

 

Year 8s showed amazing teamwork on the nitro-crossing activity. Students had to get across on the rope and carry a bucket of water over in the quickest amount of time. Activity Group 2 is going to win hot chips with Miss Wrigley next week for getting their 9 team members and the bucket of water over in 35 seconds!! Amazing effort!

Kira Waldron Year 12 - Representing Victoria in Shooting

Over 4 days, from the 25th to the 28th of February, Kira competed against 138 other shooters in four different gauges. 

 

She managed to do extremely well and came home with 4 medals!

2nd in B grade for 28 gauge 

2nd in B grade 20 gauge

1st in B grade for the champion champions

As well as making it into the ladies' postal team.

 

Kira has been selected and will travel to Wagga Wagga in March. She will be competing over seven days from the 3rd to the 9th and will represent Victoria as a part of the Junior team. This will involve her scores being added to the others in the team and put against all other states that have sent a team.
