New staff

Let's meet the staff who joined our College in 2024 and during 2023!!

2024

MS ALIESHA WRIGLEY

What was your previous experience?

I have been in the government's primary education system for the last few years. So, this is a nice change for me! I started as an Education Support at Leongatha Primary School for a couple of years during my studies, then I did casual relief teaching there before I gained a position at Poowong Consolidated. I was then at Drouin Primary School last year. I’m thankful to be closer to home. It’s lovely to be able to see some familiar faces and be a part of their whole learning journey!

What is your role at MMCRC?

I will be teaching Year 7-10 Health and Physical Education, which I am very excited about. I am also a Year 9 homeroom teacher. I will be going on my first camp of the year with Year 8 this week!

Do you have any local connections?

I grew up in this area and have many local connections. I have a couple of cousins that attend the school. I attended Leongatha Primary and Secondary as a student and was a member of Leongatha Little Athletics Club and Leongatha Town Netball Club for much of my youth. My younger brothers were a part of Leongatha Junior Football Club, as well as cricket and basketball, so I grew up with sport. I am now a keen golfer with Korumburra Golf Club and know some students who enjoy golf outside school. My love and passion for sport has developed throughout these experiences and become a huge part of my life. So, it’s lovely to be able to contribute to the local area that is very special to me

What are your first impressions of MMCRC?

I love the strong community feel throughout the college. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and supportive as I transition into my new role. So, I am very grateful for that. The college values resonate with me – particularly wisdom, learning from our mistakes, and building on our successes. I am giving myself 5 terms to settle in; which was a wise reminder from John Freeman.
