Communication Platforms – Schoolbox & Seesaw
This year, the Mambourin campus will be moving to ‘Schoolbox’ for all school communications (newsletters, calendar events, information relating to classes / Year Levels etc.). This will be in line with the Tarneit campus. Classes will also continue to use ‘Seesaw’ to share your child’s learning and information pertinent to your child's class.
More information will be provided to all families about how to connect to, and navigate, these communication platforms.
Conversations with Teachers
Collaboration between parents/guardians, students and their teacher (s) is essential for your child’s success. Respectful and open dialogue is important. Whilst we encourage this dialogue to occur, there are appropriate times for these to occur. Whilst students are at school, teachers are responsible for their supervision within school hours. As such, teachers are not always able to have important conversations before or after school without a scheduled time being made.
To make an appointment with your child’s teacher at a suitable time, please communicate with them directly via email.
Bus Travel
For students who will be travelling by bus to and from our Mambourin Campus, please arrive at the designated ‘pick-up’ area as per the instructions provided by our College Administration. Once boarded, students will arrive onto our Mambourin campus, where they will be greeted by a teacher and directed to a classroom/area.
At the end of the school day, students will meet at a designated area at our campus where a roll will be marked to check names and counted onto the bus. Parents will then greet their child at the designated ‘end’ bus stop.
If for some reason your plans have changed throughout the day and your child will NOT be returning home via our bus service, it is important to inform the Mambourin College Administration via email.
Uniform expectations
All students are required to wear the correct College uniforms as per the College’s Uniform Guideline information for Primary Students (this can also be located on the GNLC website). It is important that your child wears the College hat in Term 1 as per our policy. Should you require any clarification, please contact our Administration team.
We strongly encourage you to label your child’s clothing/belongings to avoid the need to purchase new items if lost.
Snacks/Lunch and Water
In order to keep your child fuelled for the day, please ensure that they are provided with healthy foods that will provide sufficient nourishment. Avoid sugary and high-fat foods (think occasional treats). There are many wonderful sites that can be referred to for some excellent ideas. Make the choices easy to eat for your child. You know them best!
This year we have several children with severe allergic reactions to certain foods. We ask that children do not bring foods containing nuts. We will also be enforcing that children do NOT share food at any time.
Just as importantly, remaining hydrated throughout the day is very important. Please provide your child with a water bottle so they can sip away and refill throughout the school day. A reminder to ensure that these are also labelled.
Birthday celebrations
We are always excited to celebrate a child's birthday. However, we ask families to avoid bringing gifts/large lolly bags for every child in the class. If you would like to bring in something small to share with your child’s friends, please pass this on to the classroom teacher who will then hand these out at an appropriate time.
Medical Action Plans
If your child has a medical action plan due to an existing condition, please ensure you bring your child's doctor certified action plan and medication to be kept at school. If further clarification is require speak with our Administration for further clarification about this.
Information Evenings
Please refer to the Calendar of events for our upcoming information evenings. We encourage at least ONE parent/guardian to be present in order to gain necessary information.
We are looking forward to meeting you all very soon!
Warm Regards
Steven Tkaczuk & Lara Ronalds
The growth of the Mambourin Campus is a blessing for our community. In response to the rise in enrolments, and increase in traffic and bus routes for 2024, a new drop off/pick up and parking area has been created.
Please see the image below for the new map with further instructions and details:
School commences for all students on Monday 29 January 2024. If any new students are unsure of where to go or were not involved in ‘Step-Up’ at the end of 2023, then they should meet at the Mambourin Campus Front Office. Otherwise, all students can go directly to their classrooms. Prep students should go to their Prep classrooms. Staff will be on hand to assist and help you!
Parents are encouraged to follow GNLC on social media to receive regular updates and photos from College events.
