Simone Roche - rochs@staff.mta.qld.edu.au

My name is Simone Roche and I am the newly appointed Dean of Middle Years: Transitions and Outcomes. I am excited to join Mt A in 2024 and share my passion for fostering an enriching and supportive environment for our Middle Years students.

Recognising the pivotal role that years 7 to 9 play in shaping a student’s academic and personal growth, I am eager to partner with students, parents, teachers, and our broader community to ensure a rewarding middle school experience. I also have a passion for teaching both Senior and Junior English, and I am excited to share the classroom with years 8 and 9 this year.  I am deeply committed to developing agency and aspiration in our students and I am looking forward to the endless possibilities that 2024 has to offer!

Dean of Senior Years (10-12) - Transitions & Outcomes

Katrina Mansfield - mansk@staff.mta.qld.edu.au

My name is Katrina Mansfield, and I am delighted to join the Mount Alvernia community as the Dean of Senior Years – Transition and Outcomes. With over 30 years in education, my main teaching area is Senior Mathematics. In the last 5 years, I was the Head of Senior Mathematics at Ambrose Treacy College. In this role, I closely collaborated with students to guide their choices in Senior Mathematics, aiming for the best outcomes. Additionally, I held positions such as Set Plan mentor and Acting Assistant Dean of Learning. These roles provided opportunities to review and monitor student outcomes, working closely with both students and parents.

I am looking forward to partnering with students, parents, and staff at Mount Alvernia to support students in achieving their post-school goals. My advice to students is to embrace challenges, understanding that it's okay to struggle and make mistakes. Overcoming struggle provides valuable learning opportunities and fosters resilience and perseverance.

Dean of Administration - Christopher Breingan

I am thrilled to join this vibrant community as a new member of the teaching team here at Mount Alvernia College. With over two decades of experience in education, specialising in Mathematics and Science, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to my classrooms.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving in different leadership capacities, focusing on both pastoral care, curriculum and administration, which has equipped me with a holistic understanding of the educational landscape. I am deeply committed to fostering an environment where every student feels supported and empowered to excel academically and personally. I look forward to collaborating with each of you to continue nurturing a culture of excellence and growth within this fantastic MtA community.
