3/4 News

Welcome Back 3/4 students and families!
It's amazing to see how much the students have grown in 6 weeks! They are definitely catching up to their teachers. We are so proud of our grade 3's. The resilience they've shown as they enter their new classroom within the main building for the first time in their schooling journey has been impressive to see. Grade 4's have also started with a bang, coming into the year showing greater responsibility and leadership.
This week has been all about getting to know each other as a class and setting up routines and expectations. Enjoy some photos below of our first week of term 1.
We hope to see and chat with you at the Welcome BBQ on Monday evening.
For maths we have been engaged in some new and exciting warm up games.
In reading we have been unpacking expectations around what independent and buddy reading should look, feel and sound like along with choosing the right books for our ability and enjoyment.
Inquiry
This term, our whole school focus is 'Community'. For 3/4 students, they will develop knowledge and language to participate in conversations about Australian culture and the treatment of the First Australians. They will use the skills of historians as they consider their family history and develop a curiosity about the past. Students will be able to consider the punishment of the convicts in the context of modern day standards and will create artefacts to represent the life of an Indigenous person & a European Settler.
Specialist Timetable
3/4's will have P.E and Science on a Monday and then Art, Enviro & Library on Wednesday's.
