Recognising Stage 2 Merits and our 2023 ATAR Dux

At our Year 11/12 Assembly on Monday 12 February, we celebrated the exceptional accomplishments of our students in 2023. In particular, seven Year 11 students were recognised for achieving an A+ with Merit for their Research Project.

Congratulations to these students, who were also able to recently attend the SACE Merit Ceremony at Government House.

Additionally, we were privileged to have our esteemed old scholar and ATAR Dux of 2023, Lacey, share invaluable insights and reflections that contributed to her remarkable success, inspiring our current students on their academic and personal journey in Year 11 and 12.

Year 12 Orientation Day

Our Year 12 students started their Orientation Day with an uplifting visit to Gateway Baptist, where they engaged in a heartfelt time of praise and worship. They received a thoughtful God-honoring message from their Home Group teachers and Joel Overweel, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.

The day also fostered community and camaraderie as students participated in a Home Group discussion to strengthen their bonds and understand each other better. Highlighting the day's events, a drumming workshop offered a unique opportunity to connect through music; each student playing a drum, creating a beautiful harmony.

The day concluded on a high note with fun-filled bowling and laser tag games, rounding off a memorable start to their final year!

Vocational Education and Training

Vocational Education and Training (VET) highlights hands-on industry areas. Surveying is one of these; the engineering field of Spatial Science. It is an exciting field that combines math, practical work, and outdoor adventures. In South Australia, there's a big need for skilled surveyors which means plenty of job opportunities. Starting out with a Surveying Technician VET qualification, is the the first step to becoming a Licensed Surveyor with University study. If your child enjoys math and being outside, surveying could be a rewarding career path  for them!
