“...your works are wonderful, I know that full well” Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

A new year, a new beginning. We all entered into our classrooms with a different emotion. Some children already had insight into what the Early Learning Centre (ELC) may look like. But for many it was the first time leaving the security of loved ones. With bravery each said goodbye and went on to commence their story; a story that lasts until they enter their Foundation year.

The classrooms were buzzing with excitement! We commenced our days with morning gatherings where we introduced children to our daily commitment to prayer and Acknowledgement Of Country. We built on these gatherings through sharing our favourite books from our ELC library and sharing in the Word of God.

Having the scripture from Psalm 139:14 (NIV), at the forefront of our minds we were able to commence our journey to learn of God’s love for us; we are all different, but all perfect in every way.

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well" Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

Each classroom has embraced this scripture and have provided various platforms for children to share and interpret. For example, children have used self portraits as the platform to share understandings of how each of us are made differently but perfectly in every way.

The beautiful story Elmer written by David McKee, was used as inspiration in one of our classrooms, where children were encouraged to design their own 'Elmer' and using their own reflections, were able to discover that each were different but each was made uniquely by their illustrator.

Sharing in the joy of exploring, we have spent time within the indoor and outdoor learning environments where children have been supported and encouraged to be confident and bold in their discoveries and exploration.

We look forward to capturing beautiful moments and being able to transform our documentation into pieces for families to be immersed in their child’s discoveries.
