Leader of Year 11 Wellbeing

Mrs Michelle Aurelius

It has been another successful term with many of our students achieving across all areas of the College. Congratulations to all our Peer Support Leaders, you have done a fantastic job this term working with year 7 completing the Peer Support Program. There are also many students going out on Work Experience over the next week and into next term. We wish you a successful week and have no doubt you will make the College proud.

Uniform

Our students are wearing their Winter Uniform extremely well however, just a reminder on sports day there is to be no hoodies worn and students must have correct sport socks and footwear must be a jogger.

Assessment Block

With Year 11 moving into their 2nd Assessment block for the Semester there are many valuable study tips below that each student can use. I wish you all the best and remember to come and see me if any issues arise.

- Break your time into manageable blocks (45-60 mins with 5-10 min breaks)

- Prioritize subjects based on exam dates and difficulty

- Use a calendar or planner to map out what to study and when

Use Active Recall and Repetition

- Don’t just re-read notes, quiz yourself often with flashcards & practice questions

- Space your revision over day/weeks, don’t cram

Practice Past Papers

- Simulate exam conditions

- Focus on time management and identifying common verbs

Summarise, Don’t copy

- Rewrite notes in your own words

- Use diagrams, mind maps or bullet points to simplify key concepts

Teach Someone Else

- Explaining a topic to a friend or family member helps you lock in understanding

Limit Distractions

- Put your phone on “Do NOT Disturb” and leave it in another room

- Study in a quiet, tidy space

Stay Healthy

- Sleep 7-9 hrs (your brain needs rest to retain information)
