Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,
I trust everyone has had a positive week!
Many of our Year 3-6 students were selected to represent our school at the District Athletics at Ballam Park today. Staff have reported that not only was there a lot of success but also excellent sportsmanship shown to their competitors. Well done to you all and thank you to the staff and many parents who attended.
Tomorrow is our end of term Whole School Mass when we join together for the Feast of the Sacred Heart though the term actually concludes on Friday 4 July. Please feel welcome to join us and wider members of the community are of course very welcome to join us in the Church.
Please keep in your prayers our students who are currently attending the weekend Masses as part of their preparation for receiving their First Communion and Confirmation. In wider faith news for our Southern Region of the Catholic Archdioces of Melbourne we have lost our current Bishop, Father Tony Ireland, who has been appointed as the new Archbishop of Hobart. Our loss will be the Apple Isle's gain as his ability both to be an exemplar of faith but also a down to earth leader will take some replacement.
Next week I will share the log in details for our School Interviews which are in the second week of Term on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st July.
Our final week of the 11 week term is next week. The Library has now moved into the portable room for the remainder of the year. Our Year 3/ 4 classes move into the Library (Mrs Burns) and the Artroom (Mrs O'Toole and Mrs Briggs) tomorrow. At the end of next week the Year 5/ 6 classes will move into the hall at the stage end with mobile dividers separating them into distinct classrooms. During the holidays a demountable wall will be built half way across the hall so we can continue to use the other end of the hall as required. The students are showing a lot of excitement and support of the change which is great to be a part of.
Next Wednesday our Soccer team has the opportunity to play against Kananook PS in a Divisional competition. Good luck to all those who were selected to take part and to Mrs Ary for her organisation.
Thanks again for a wonderful week, and we look forward to what’s ahead for our final week!
God Bless
Rod Shaw
