Reflection on Term 2 Assemblies

Celebrating Our Learning
Throughout Term 2, our school community has gathered for assemblies that highlight and celebrate student learning across year levels. These assemblies are an opportunity for students to share their learning journeys, showcase their achievements, and build confidence in presenting to a wider audience. Each year level has taken the stage to present something meaningful they’ve explored during the term, giving us all a glimpse into the rich learning happening across our classrooms.
Year 6 explored the inquiry topic Identity, with the theme ‘All About Me’. Students spoke about who they are, what they love, and what makes them unique. They created and presented slides showing the 10 different categories that shape our identity, offering a thoughtful reflection on what makes each of us who we are.
Year 5 shared a powerful presentation for Reconciliation Week. They created a reflection wall focused on saying sorry and acknowledging the importance of reconciliation with First Nations peoples. Their assembly reminded us why it’s important to learn from the past and to work toward healing and understanding as a united community.
Foundation students led a special assembly for their families and Year 6 buddies. Linked to their inquiry topic on ‘Shaping Identity’, the students spoke about their identity boxes and how they’ve been getting to know their teachers, peers, and themselves. They included in their presentation a heart-warming song Better Together, reinforcing the message of unity, connection, and belonging.
Year 4 are looking forward to presenting about their exciting incursion experience in Week 10. During this session, they learned how to make smoothies while focusing on teamwork and collaboration. Along the way, they discovered resilience, patience, and leadership within themselves. Their presentation will highlight how they built team skills and worked together to achieve a shared goal.
We are so proud of the creativity, thoughtfulness, and confidence shown by year levels this term. Assemblies continue to be a wonderful way to connect and celebrate the diverse learning experiences of our students.
