Buddy Program

Our Buddy Program continues to foster meaningful and lasting connections between our older and younger students, helping to create a strong sense of belonging across the school. This initiative not only promotes friendship and fun, but also supports the development of leadership, empathy, and confidence in our senior students, while providing a warm, supportive environment for our younger learners.
This year, our Prep students have been working closely with their Year 6 buddies, forming bonds that help ease the transition into school life. Year 1 students have also enjoyed connecting with their Year 5 buddies through a variety of hands-on and interactive experiences. Whether it’s reading together, playing games, or working on creative projects, these buddy sessions have become a much-anticipated part of the week for all involved.
Some highlights from Semester 1 included:
- Celebrating Harmony Day by sharing stories, traditions, and information about our cultures, helping students embrace diversity and deepen their understanding of each other.
- Enjoying lunch together, creating opportunities for relaxed conversations and relationship-building in a casual setting.
- Following step-by-step instructions to complete a drawing, an activity that promoted listening skills, patience, and collaboration.
- Creating beautiful collaborative artworks during our Good Shepherd Feast Day celebrations, which gave students a chance to work as a team and contribute to a shared goal.
These shared experiences have brought so much joy and connection to our school community, and we look forward to seeing these relationships continue to grow throughout the year.
