Principal Report

Term three has been action packed
It has been a wonderfully busy and creative term with so many special events and whole school activities happening!
Starting with NAIDOC week where students explored the theme of "The next generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy", through stories, art pieces and activities. This was followed by National Science week, which culminated with a very fun science expo that was organised by a team of teachers. Throughout the week classes explored a variety a science concepts and participated in some very engaging experiments. Our book week adventures involved fun dress-ups, book readings, a parade with commentary from the Student Representative Council (SRC), a pyjama disco and many fun activities.
We are delighted to welcome Joseph Lim to our school community this term. He brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his role of classroom teacher in SLC6 and is passionate about supporting every learner to thrive. Please join us in warmly welcoming Joseph Lim to our Teaching Team.
Friends and Family event - Term 4
We are looking forward to hosting a fun event for family, friends and extended school community to attend in term 4. It will be an opportunity to celebrate our new school and some of the wonderful work/activities the students have created. We have tentatively chosen Wednesday the 19th of November for our event. We will send out some information in the first few weeks of term 4 to confirm details.
Parent/Guardian/Carer Opinion Survey
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement.
We sent you an invitation to complete the survey. If you cannot find the invite, please reach out and we can resend this invitation to you.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will remain open online until Friday 19 September 2025.
Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.
The survey is being conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete.
If you require assistance in completing the survey, please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school if you require assistance in another language.
Remember September
One of our families is participating in a fundraising event this month 'Remember September' which is dedicated to raising awareness of pancreatic cancer. The event aims to honour those we’ve lost, support those affected, and fund vital research and hope for the future. If you would like more information about how to get involved, please don't hesitate to reach out or send an email to amanda.white3@education.vic.gov.au
