A Message from the Principal

A celebration of our learning.

I am incredibly proud of the learning that is happening across our school. Our students are fortunate to have a dedicated and talented staff committed to improving, extending, and celebrating their educational journey. It's inspiring to see the progress and achievements of our students every day.

We dedicate an uninterrupted block of time to math and literacy at the start of each day.  This educational strategy provides students with extended, continuous periods of time to focus on a single subject or task without distractions or scheduled transitions to other activities. This method is based on the idea that deep, concentrated work leads to better learning outcomes, enhanced focus, and improved problem-solving skills.

An Education Assistant is in every classroom during this crucial time, ensuring every student works at their own level and receives the targeted support they need.

After recess, our focus shifts to spelling. Every teaching staff member, including Mrs. Long and myself, works with a small group of students on their spelling skills. These groups are flexible and are formed based on student needs, ranging from one-on-one support to groups of up to 20 students. 

We have seen great success with our students using this uninterrupted block strategy and hope to celebrate many more in the future.
