Message from the Principal
Dear parents, carers and friends of EEPS,
I hope that you are having a good week, as the term moves along. Last Friday we managed to take our annual whole school drone photo, which is always a significant annual highlight. The weather favoured us for the photo and then we were able to talk about the important messages behind this event at assembly on Monday.
Congratulations to Ms Schopf who has celebrated the happy arrival of a beautiful baby daughter, Maya, last Friday. Rachel made a special point of letting us know that her massive dog, Basil, is adjusting to a new family dynamic now!
Vandalism Over the Weekend
You may have seen my direct Compass Newsfeed on Tuesday regarding vandalism over the weekend. This is always very disappointing, especially, as we have put a lot of work into the kitchen garden and fairy garden throughout the year. If any of our EEPS families have any further information that might help in discovering who may have been involved, then please contact the school office.
Prep Transition
We have our first Prep Transition session, Music and Movement, next Wednesday and Friday so please make sure that you have booked any younger siblings in. These sessions are a valuable experience for the kinder children and at the same time gives us insights about our new Preps for the following year.
Book Week Book Parade and Dress Up Day
Last Thursday, we were very pleased to hold our inaugural Book Week Dress Up day with a parade. A big thank you to all the families who helped source costumes and who brought a gold coin donation for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. This year we raised over $600.
Arts Show – mark the date
Our 2025 Arts show is coming up very shortly. Thursday 11th September, 5.30-7.30 pm. It is going to be a great night - lots of student artwork on display as well as musical items happening throughout the school. We have also organised a CFW sausage sizzle for the night.
Emergency Management Planning
Every year, before 1st September, schools are required to update their site-specific Emergency Management Plans. This task has been completed and submitted to the Department. Our quarterly drill schedule is an important part of the EMP.
Upcoming Dates
Tuesday 2nd September - Banyule Nillumbik Public Speaking Final
Thursday 11th September - ARTS Show 5.30-7.30 pm
Wednesday 17th September - 3 Way Conferences - Variation to School hours Day (students only required at school for their conferences)
Friday 19th September- end of Term 3, 2.30 pm
Congratulations to Piper W for proudly representing her school and State in the National Hockey Championship competition in Bendigo. The team came third, which was just magnificent.
Have a great week of ‘Learning and Growing Together’.
Kind regards
Warren Lloyd
