Term 3 Middle School Mid Term Chat
What an incredible Term 3 Revive Day for our year 10’s ! The energy around the school was electric as students raced from clue to clue in The Amazing Race. Laughter, determination, and quick thinking filled every corner of the campus. It was fantastic to see groups of students who don’t normally hang out together working side-by-side, stepping out of their comfort zones, and showing what true resilience looks like.
A huge shoutout to Emelie, Maddy, Monica, Rachel, Sophie, Ella, and Zoe – your hard work, organisation, and infectious enthusiasm made this event possible. Your dedication to creating something memorable for our students is truly appreciated.
Congratulations to Term 3 Revive Day – Amazing Race & Inspiring Resilience

The day didn’t end there – we were then inspired by Steve Baker, AFL legend, who spoke passionately about how Resilience, Hard Work, and Grit are the cornerstones to overcoming life’s struggles and achieving our goals. Hearing Steve’s story – a remarkable AFL career achieved against all odds – was a powerful reminder that with the right mindset, we can reach our highest aspirations.
Steve showed us a screen shot of his school report that true reflection of our Progress report and despite finding academics hard his effort was always excellent.

Meanwhile our Year 9 students took part in an inspiring Cluster Day that focused on Empowering Women in Trade. The event was designed to challenge stereotypes, broaden horizons, and give students the opportunity to explore career pathways in a variety of trade industries.
The day was full of exciting, hands-on workshops where students rolled up their sleeves and got involved in everything from plumbing, electrical work, painting, and building, to bricklaying and even the construction of a tunnel. With guidance from experienced tradespeople, students were able to experience the practical skills required for each trade, while also learning about the diverse opportunities available in these industries.
One of the highlights was seeing students confidently using tools. For many, it was their first real taste of what a career in the trades might look like, and the excitement and curiosity was evident throughout the day.
The message was clear: trades are for everyone. By shining a spotlight on the role of women in these industries, the event encouraged students to consider pathways that they may not have thought possible before.
Tahlia said "no matter what gender you are, there is always a trade for you."
Izzy said "I really enjoyed cluster day, it made provided me a much deeper understand of the trades industry. Before cluster day i would have never considered a trade, but once i participated i really got to like it."
Nikki said she enjoyed Cluster day "because it really opened my eyes and gave me more knowledge about trade when I previously didn't know or understand what it was. Today also really tested me on my career choices because I discovered that there are more options that I would enjoy. This experience made me realise I'm good and interested at other things and since my dad works in the trade, it helped me understand why he chose this career path and hopefully this helps me connect with him more".
Cluster Day was not only educational but also empowering, and it left our students with a stronger sense of confidence, resilience, and possibility for the future.
Year 10 Italian Students Step into the Teacher’s Role
On Tuesday, August 5th, Professor Allen’s Year 10 Italian students embraced a new challenge — becoming Italian teachers for a day!
As part of a special language immersion activity, the students visited Templestowe Heights Primary School, where they led a series of interactive Italian lessons for enthusiastic Grade 6 students. The Year 10s spent time carefully preparing fun and educational activities, covering topics such as animals, jobs and professions, and, naturally, Italian food.
The sessions were run in rotation, ensuring every student had the chance to participate and share their knowledge. The Grade 6 students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, engaging with the language in creative and exciting ways.
Our students represented Doncaster Secondary College with confidence, kindness, and professionalism. They should all be incredibly proud of their efforts.
Bravissimi!
