Wellbeing

At DSC, the Wellbeing Program is a key initiative, featuring a diverse and passionate team of social workers and counsellors. With a fresh group of placement students starting in Term 3, they’ve already made a significant impact on the school community, offering one-on-one support, hosting lunchtime clubs, and engaging with various student programs. The team works with sub-school staff to promote the Whole School Approach to Wellbeing, a framework designed to ensure that every student is supported academically, socially, and emotionally throughout their journey at DSC.
There is always a club or activity running during breaktimes. These range from Uno in the Wellbeing Hub, the ever-popular Slime Club on Mondays, to the Chill Club, and many more. These activities are open to all students, providing a safe, and supportive space where everyone can connect, make friends, and unwind. The variety of clubs ensures that there is something for everyone, whether it’s crafting that takes your interest, or board games.
The Wellbeing Team is dedicated not only to offering recreational opportunities but also to fostering a culture of care and connection across the school. They work to address student needs, run awareness campaigns on mental health, and provide resources to help students manage stress, build resilience, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Whether through informal conversations during lunch or more structured wellbeing programs, the team strives to make every student feel heard, valued, and supported.
The Wellbeing Program continues to be a vital part of DSC’s commitment to holistic education. By combining professional expertise with a genuine care for student wellbeing, the team helps create an environment where students can thrive not just as learners, but as confident, happy, and resilient individuals prepared for life beyond school.
