Wellbeing and Inclusion

Wellbeing Teaching and Learning – ‘Open Parachute’
from Cass Jackson-Lee, Mental Health & Wellbeing Leader/Learning Specialist.
This term I have the pleasure of being able to work with all students in Years 3 to 6 and supporting them with ‘Wellbeing’ Lessons exploring Mental Health, Physical Health as well as Social Emotional Learning. We are fortunate to have access to and be exploring ‘Open Parachute’, an online mental health program developed with the support of Guy Sebastien’s, Sebastien Foundation. The program explores a range of topics including: Self-Awareness & Positive Thinking, Friendship Skills, Coping with Changes and Challenges, Anxiety & Resilience, Bullying & Boundary Setting, Social Media & Body Image, Inclusion and Respect.
All of the topics complement the Resilience, Right and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) Curriculum and give us a wonderful opportunity to learn practical skills that will support all of our students mental health and wellbeing.
‘Open Parachute’ has a range of fantastic resources and supports for parents and care givers. Please read on to find out more about the program and what it has to offer.
