Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week Mass and The Spirit of Catholic Education Awards will be held on Wednesday, May 28th. The Event will commence with Mass in the Cathedral at 11 a.m., followed by a light lunch and awards presentation.

 

Mass Time: 11.00 am 

Venue: Saints Mary and Joseph's Catholic Cathedral

 

Awards Time: 1.00 pm

Awards Ceremony Venue: St Mary's Primary School Hall

 

We encourage representation from all schools, if possible. The Armidale Catholic Schools will cover the cost of bus hire and car travel.

2025 Primary Cross Country

Our annual Armidale Catholic Schools Primary Cross Country was held on Wednesday 9th April 2025 in Barraba and hosted by St Joseph's Primary School. This little school community came out in carloads to set up on Tuesday and then dusted off the final touches early on Wednesday morning. All the staff, parents and students should be commended on their efforts to host such a large but successful event! The St Joseph’s Barraba School community do such an amazing job with this event in all areas.  

The Small School Champions for the Armidale Diocesan Cross Country were St Patrick’s Walcha.

Congratulations to these little superstars for placing in the top 6 in their age group and will be competing at the NSWCPS Cross Country Championships in June.

Libraries celebrating the life of His Holiness, Pope Francis

To honour the life and legacy of Pope Francis, a new collection has been added to SORA, the digital library. The collection curates books written by, or about, Pope Francis. You can access the collection through SORA, or with the direct link - Pope Francis Collection.

 

This week’s ebook of the week promotion also celebrates the life of Pope Francis.

 

May His Holiness’ legacy live on for generations.

2025 Students as Authors Writing Competition

The 2025 writing competition is now open for all students in the Diocese of Armidale Catholic Schools. The competition celebrates students and their creative writing talents across four age based categories. 

Winning entrants will have the opportunity to work with illustrator, Trish Donald, to develop their story into an ebook published for an audience of 250,000 Catholic education students across 15 Diocese. Please promote the competition with your school community and support students to enter. Entries close Friday 30th May.
