Maker's Market
After the VCE VM class carefully planned the organisation, promotion, and coordination of the event, this year's Maker's Market was a great success. A fantastic range of student entrepreneurs featured products ranging from delicious treats to handcrafted items. Faculty favourites included Mr. Philpot’s line of chocolates and Mrs. Chen’s dumplings.
The PTFA was in the hub of food and fun, serving delicious sausages and working alongside the VCE VM team who were serving hot and cold drinks in the canteen. Student buskers added to the festive atmosphere and delighted shoppers with their tunes.
Jemima and Max worked energetically at the Car Wash with the support of some enthusiastic volunteers, while Bridie, Lachlan, Kiara and Kayla dedicated themselves to coordinating the stalls and generating the hospitality emanating from the canteen.
Here are some reflections from some of the VM students:
Our amazing VCE VM team loved hosting this event. The community had so much fun and the market brought so many families together to celebrate Mother’s Day. - Jemima
Market activities were very uplifting and brought the community together. - Bridie
We had over 30 stall participants and had a great show of people. It was very cool to see all the stalls that were open. - Max
We thank everyone for attending and making it a great turnout. We were all impressed with how the stalls turned out and how creative you stallholders all are. - Kayla
The overall event was a blessing and was such an experience. It was uplifting and definitely a must do, each year. Can’t wait to experience the Christmas Market!

Year 10 Youth Alpha Retreat
Our Year 10 class spent three days at Portland Bay Lodge on our Youth Alpha Retreat. This was part of our Christian Studies program where we have been spending our lessons together working through the Youth Alpha course. The retreat included focused sessions on prayer, reading the Bible and on the role of the Holy Spirit. This included working through video sessions as well as the opportunity to engage in some amazing discussions.
It also included beach walks, kicking the footy, spaghetti building and other team building activities. I really valued and appreciated the way each student engaged with the different aspects of camp. Thanks Year 10 for a rewarding few days and a massive thank you to Mrs Pritchard and Mr Fjording for their involvement.
Comments from Students - how they summed up camp:
Camp was great. Big thanks to the Beckman family for providing the food.
It was great to learn about God and learn about other people that we might not have known so well.
I loved the deep Christian conversations that my classmates got involved into. I was surprised at the depth that the Youth Alpha series brought into our discussion before and during the camp. But, of course, what's a camp without lots of fun. I got to hang out with my friends and play different fun team building activities.
My view of camp was very interesting. It's great that us as Year 10's get to do a camp, especially a Christian based one. The class discussions were very intriguing and made me understand how much I already know about my faith which motivated me to pursue God more. I thank all the teachers for this experience and I can comfortably say that this camp was my favourite camp out of all of the camps throughout school.
Really good. loved how it felt more relaxing then most camps.
I thoroughly enjoyed the camp because it led our year level into deep discussion on topics that relate to us and it gave us an opportunity to ask questions and get a deeper response.
Everyone was like a big happy family.
Camp was an amazing and memorable experience on which I had a lot of fun and learnt a lot.
Portland was moving. Everyone I felt, grew even if its just a little bit.
Good time and vibes, bonding with your best mates.
Camp was a exciting way to be out of the school routine and lean more about God and and other peers beliefs and opinion.
I thought the camp was good as I got a chance to learn about God and expand my knowledge about him. I also liked the camp as it helped me come closer to God then I was before.
It was great to learn about faith and listen to peoples different views on it.
Camp was really fun, I got to hang out with my friends and explore Christianity in a more deeper level.
Portland camp was a great experience and chance to ask the many urging questions I had in my head. The 3 teachers that took us responded with great answers helping me further understand Christianity.
Year 10 camp was a great way to get out of the normal class conversations and dig deeper into different aspects of faith and Christianity.
It was a really good camp that had a great combination of learning about and discussing our Christian journey and socialising during free time.

VCE History
Our Unit 1 VCE History class has been learning about the Spanish Empire, focusing so far on the rise of the Empire. To immerse ourselves in the culture we took some time to cook up and then enjoying eating Spanish Paella.
