Rhyanne Walton

Environment Captain - Cranbourne Campus

What do you see as your role as a student leader?

As a student leader, my role is to inspire my peers, provide ways for them to voice their opinions and ideas, and create a collaborative environment where everyone feels valued.

What is one of the positives about being a student at St Peter's College?

One of the positives about being a student at St Peter's College is the strong sense of community and support among students. This environment allows for collaboration and personal growth, allowing students to form meaningful relationships.

What are your goals as Environment Captain in 2025?

As Environment Captain in 2025, my goals are to promote sustainability through recycling, increase awareness about environmental issues, and encourage student's participation in eco-friendly projects through my environment club.

Our College theme in 2025 is "Be the reason for hope" 1 Peter 3:15 - How will you live this statement through your leadership role?

As Environment Captain, I will live the theme "Be the reason for hope" by promoting sustainable practices, engaging students in environmental initiatives, and leading by example to inspire a  commitment to a greener and more sustainable school community.

Environment  Captain - Clyde North Campus

What do you see as your role as a student leader?

As a student leader, I aim to help others through encouragement and advice. For those who may be unsure of certain things or those who may need some help, whether it be inside or out of school,  they could always come to me for help. I want to be the person that students know that they could always reach out to me; and by adopting a positive mindset, would help them also feel uplifted in whatever it may be.

What is one of the positives about being a student at St Peter's College?

Being a student here at St Peter's College has made me feel a sense of community among everyone. As a student I'm able to speak and express myself comfortably to everyone, especially my friends. In this sense, I know that I have the support of others to help me in times of struggle, and that I'm able to do the same for those who may feel the same way.

What are your goals as Environment Captain in 2025?

As an Environment Captain, I aim to change people's mindset about sustainability into a more positive perspective, and to consider how the environment affects us as young people significantly. In doing such, I hope that students would be able to take initiative in the things that do impact them, and to know that they can make a difference no matter how big or small.

Our college theme in 2025 is "Be the reason for hope" (1 Peter 3:15) - How will you live this statement through your leadership role?

Through my leadership role, I will live this statement by encouraging a positive outlook both in and out of schoolwork and help inspire others to do the same through my projects, demeanor, attitude, and my actions.  In doing so, I would be able shift mindsets and encourage others to take action for the things that they are passionate about or encourage a more open perspective on things.
