Recently in JDR we have been practising our 3 Read Routine - we tried for a catchier name but came up short!

We have been using the routine in the classroom during our partner reading times and for our reading at home.

We have noticed that we do it when we read other things too, not just our home readers. We often need to reread math questions or instructions to make sure we know what they are asking. Even Deb needs to use the routine when she reads a book aloud to the class, and especially for recipes!

Rereading things, and moving through the routine helps us to practice our fluency, build our understanding of words, deepen our comprehension of the text and build our confidence as readers.
