YEAR 7 KEY INFORMATION: WEEK 2

Parent - Student- Teacher Conversations: Thursday, 1 May, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm

In keeping with our Year 7 theme of 'Starting Well Together,' next week offers parents the opportunity to connect with their child’s subject teachers at the Parent-Student-Teacher Conversations. These conversations are important in understanding the support required from all to ensure continued student improvement and success. All conversations take place in the HOB, and times must be booked with teachers via the link provided in the Whole-of-College Notices below.

Swimming Carnival: Wednesday 30 April. Students to make their own way to Woree Pool

Next Wednesday, 30 April, all students are to meet at the Woree Pool for our annual Swimming Carnival. In addition to the traditional competitive swimming events, all students are encouraged to participate in the novelty events to help their House earn valuable points in the race for Swimming Carnival House victory!

Please Note:

The College Tuck Shop will deliver pre-ordered lunches to the Woree Pool for Students and Staff; orders must be placed at the Tuck Shop by Tuesday. The Woree Pool Canteen will also be open on Wednesday for students to purchase lunch and snacks if desired.
Students must make their own way to the pool for an 8:30 am start and will be dismissed from the pool at 3:15 pm.
Students should be dressed in their HOUSE uniform, accompanied by any items that match their House dress-up theme.
Students should also wear appropriate swimming attire in the pool.

The swimming carnival is one of the highlights of the school year, and I am looking

forward to seeing all the Year 7s in attendance on the day!

Term 2 School Fees and Levies

The school fees and levies for Term 2 will be emailed to all account holders in Week 3, from Wednesday, 7 May.

Full payment is due by Wednesday, 21 May. If you are unable to pay in full by the due date, please contact the Accounts Team to arrange an approved payment plan with the College.

Parent - Student - Teacher Conversations

Parent-Student-Teacher conversations will occur on Thursday, 01 May from 2:00 pm - 6.00 pm in the Hugh O'Brien Centre. For further information, please refer to the College Broadcast sent on Friday, 4 April 2025.

Premier's Reading Challenge 2025

Students in Years 7 to 9 are invited to take part in the 2025 Premier’s Reading Challenge, which begins on Tuesday, May 6 and runs through to Friday, August 22.

To get involved, students can collect a Reader Tally Sheet from the library. Once they’ve read the required 15 books, they simply return the completed sheet to the library for official submission to the Premier.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself, discover new authors, and celebrate the joy of reading. Happy reading!

CSPQ-Diocese of Cairns Parent Engagement Mini Conference

Saturday, 31 May 2025, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm, St Augustine's College

All Catholic school parents, carers, principals, and staff are warmly invited to a free event focused on supporting student learning and well-being. Enjoy complimentary morning tea and lunch while gaining valuable insights. You're welcome to attend the entire day or join the sessions that best suit your schedule. The event is open to families with children from Prep to Year 12.
