Welcome back to Term 2.
We hope everyone had a restful break. We’re looking forward to another exciting term ahead, with staff already planning a range of activities and events for our students and families.
ANZAC Day Commemorations
We are very proud of our School Captains who represented Great Ryrie Primary School at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Ringwood Memorial Clock Tower on Friday, April 25th, 2025.
They laid a wreath on behalf of our school and the wider community with great respect and maturity.
At school, our School Captains and Flag Captains also led a whole school ANZAC service for all students. Everyone listened carefully, joined in the minute of silence, and showed respect as we remembered the brave men and women who have helped and continue to help keep our country safe.
Lest we forget.
Education Week
One of the highlights this term will be Education Week. We would like to invite everyone to our Open Night on Wednesday the 21st of May from 3:30pm - 5pm.
Come along to visit our classrooms and see what the students are proud of with their learning. Take part in some fun outdoor activities and enjoy our sausage sizzle. Bring a picnic rug (weather permitting),and have a picnic on the oval. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate learning at Great Ryrie and connect with our wonderful school community.
We hope to see you there.
Election Day BBQ This Saturday
Speaking of sausages… come and visit us this Saturday at the B.A. Hall for our Election Day BBQ. While you're casting your vote, grab a delicious sausage and support us at the same time. It’s a great way to help raise funds for our school while enjoying a tasty snack.
Sensory Garden Update
There’s lots of excitement around our new sensory garden as the space begins to take shape. The features are now being installed, including rock chairs and tables, a trickling rock creek bed, and even a small rock amphitheatre. It’s already looking like a beautiful place to explore, imagine, and relax. The planting stage will be a whole-school project, with students involved in learning about the plants and how to care for them.
We’re looking forward to using the garden as a space for teaching, learning, quiet reflection, and plenty of imaginative play.
We’re hoping the sensory garden will be ready to enjoy by the beginning of next term.
