Reminders
Hats
We no longer require hats everyday, however as we are still having some warmer weather the children may need to wear hats if the UV is 3 or over. So please continue to pop their hats in their bags. We do also have spares if needed at kinder.
Library Bags for 4 YO's
The 4 YO's have now started their weekly visits to the school library. Please remember to send them along each week so the children can borrow and return their books.
Session times: Lasiandra - Mondays 2.10pm - 2.50pm
Waratah - Thursdays 11.50am - 12.30pm
Front Door Locking
We have made the decision to lock the kinder front door (unable to be opened by door code) during session and after children/families have left in the afternoons. This is for the safety of the children and staff. We have had a number of times adults using the door code and entering the building well after sessions have started to use the toilet or sit in the foyer, without letting staff know they are present. This presents a risk as we don't know who is in the building. By locking the door, parents/carers can ring the door bell to gain entry and this way staff will know who is in the building at all times.
The front door will be locked roughly 9.30am - 2.45pm and again after session at roughly 3.45pm. On Wednesdays it will be locked from approx. 9.15am - 11.30 and again between 1.15pm - 3.30pm and after sessions at approx 4.15pm.
Requests -
Bottle Caps
As part of an upcoming creative project, the kindergarten children will be collaborating on a special group art piece using recycled plastic bottle caps. This hands-on activity will not only be fun and educational, but also a great way to encourage environmental awareness and teamwork.
We kindly ask for your help in gathering clean plastic bottle caps of all colours, sizes, and types. Any caps you can donate would be greatly appreciated and will help make this project a colourful and meaningful creation. You will find a jar in the foyer to place your plastic bottle caps.
Thank you for helping us bring this exciting project to life!
Buffet Unit -
We’re reaching out with a small request that could make a big difference for the kindergarten. As part of our efforts to better store our resources outside, we are in need of a pre-loved buffet unit or similar piece of furniture. The unit would be used to store our outdoor materials undercover, helping us keep everything organised and protected from the weather.
If you happen to have a buffet unit that you no longer need, or know of someone who might have one available for donation, we would be incredibly grateful for your help. Any donations would go a long way in improving our outdoor learning space.
Please let us know if you’re able to assist, and thank you so much.
Bunnings BBQ - help needed
We’re excited to share that we’ve been given the wonderful opportunity to host a BBQ fundraiser at Vermont South Bunnings! This is a fantastic way for us to raise funds to enhance our kinder’s resources, with a focus on upgrading our outdoor blocks and other equipment.
To make this event a success, we’re looking for 1-2 volunteers who can help coordinate the preparation. There’s a list of items we need to gather before the event, and we'd greatly appreciate any help sourcing and picking these up. If you have a contact at a bakery or butchers that might be able to donate items, please also get in touch.
Closer to the event, we’ll be reaching out for additional volunteers to assist on the day itself, including helping out on the BBQ and other tasks. The more hands, the easier the work, so if you can lend a hand in any way, we’d be incredibly grateful!
Thank you so much for your ongoing support. We look forward to working together to make this event a great success for our kinder and our children!
If you think you can help with any donations or supporting the co-ordination of the event along with the staff, could you please come and see Naomi or Meg.
