National Reconciliation Week- 27/05 to 3/06
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is an important time for all Australians to learn about our shared history, culture, and achievements—and to explore how we can contribute to reconciliation in Australia. Held each year from 27 May to 3 June, these dates commemorate two significant milestones: the 1967 referendum and the 1992 Mabo decision.
This year’s theme for NRW25 encourages reflection and action toward building respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. At school, we mark this week with a presentation at assembly, learning activities, classroom discussions and moments to listen, learn, and grow together. Reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility, and every step we take helps create a fairer and more inclusive future.
