Mathematics

Welcome
Hello Vermont families and welcome to the Mathematics section of the Nurlendi News! Here is where we will share any exciting resources, news and activities from Maths classes across Vermont Primary School.
Year 1
1CQ have been using Unifix blocks and counters to investigate patterns.
In 1NF, students have been looking at the way building to 10 assisting with learning addition and subtraction facts.
Year 4
Year 4 class have been learning about converting between analogue and digital time. In this lesson, 4ED students are using the nRich website (The time is ... | NRICH) to order digital and analogue times.
Year 6
Mathematics lessons at VPS usually start with a warm-up activity to get students involved in Maths and engaged in the session. Here 6PS are playing a game called "Connect Three".
Player 1 rolls two die and can use any operation on the numbers rolled to produce a total on the game board (rolling a 6 and 3 could give you 6x3=18, 6+3=9, 6-3=3 or 6/3=2). The total chosen is covered with a counter. The winner is the first player to have three counters in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
Are some totals easier to cover than others?
