From the Principals

Welcome to the first newsletter for Term 2. We have had a wonderful start to the term, with students and staff slipping right back into routines. With a full term of exciting activities ahead, we are looking forward to sharing more awesome learning and fun with you! We started the term off strongly with our Year 3s attending camp last week at Mt Evelyn YMCA Camp. Well done to all the students who went along and had a great time, and to the teachers and helpers who attended and made the event possible. We look forward to hearing great things about the Year 4 camp next week.

NAPLAN Results

Preliminary NAPLAN results have been released to schools and we are pleased to have once again achieved outstanding results in all areas. With an overwhelmingly high percentage of students performing in the Strong and Exceeding categories in areas of literacy and numeracy, it is pleasing to see that Vermont PS has maintained it's exceptionally high levels of academic success. 

Full student results are not yet available to families, but should not be too far away. 

Mother's Day

You're warmly invited to our Mother's Day picnic at Vermont Primary School on Friday, 9th May, from 12:30 to 1:10pm! Bring along some food to share and join us for a relaxed lunch to celebrate the wonderful mums and carers in our school community. It’s a great chance to catch up, enjoy the outdoors, and make some lovely memories together. We can’t wait to see you there! Refer to Compass email for more details.

Photography at excursions

We are so lucky to be able to take some parent helpers along to excursions and camps with us from time to time. We thought this was a good time to remind any parents going along to excursions about the importance of not taking photos of any children other than your own. With the rise of people using social media to record and celebrate their children (which is great) it's worthwhile reminding everyone that not all children's parents give permission for their child to be visible on such platforms.
