Prayers for Peace on ANZAC Day

Last month, our school community gathered to mark ANZAC Day with a solemn and reflective service. Together, we remembered the courage and sacrifice of those who served at Gallipoli, in military service since and those who continue to serve today.

As part of the service, students offered class prayers of peace and thanks, written on dove shapes and planted around the cross — a symbol of hope and remembrance. These doves were later displayed around our school’s Peace Pole.

Families may have noticed the Peace Pole outside the Middle School near the flagpole. It is a global symbol of hope for peace, displaying the word “peace” in English, German and Hebrew, along with a reference to John 14:27 — a verse where Jesus offers a peace that calms fear and brings courage.

As we remember those who have served, let us continue to pray for peace — the peace that only Jesus, the Prince of Peace, can bring. Lest we forget.

We look forward to our next whole school chapel service in Week 6, when we will gather to mark National Reconciliation Week together as a College community.

Families are always warmly invited to join us for chapel.

May God bless you and your family.
