WE ARE PEOPLE OF STRENGTH - WE ARE PEOPLE OF GENTLENESS.
CLASS STRUCTURE
We are thrilled to share the class structure for 2024.
Thank you to the families that have shared their thoughts and suggestions for 2024. We are grateful for your interest in our school.
In making the decision, we have considered:
- Learning styles of all children
- Student needs and connections
- How many children are in each grade level
- How we can support learning growth for all children at St Joseph's
We are still working through staffing and look forward to announcing teachers for each class before Tuesday 12th December (Step Up Day).
In the next newsletter, we will announce:
- Teacher placements for each class
- Student Leadership Teams for 2024
2024 PRIORITIES
When we welcome in 2024, we look forward to working with our community in the areas of:
- Learning - Grade 3 - 6 will join the shift in teaching English. We have engaged Jocelyn Seamer to support the shift to synthetic phonics
- Learning - A new curriculum is being rolled out
- Wellbeing - We will create a Wellbeing Team that will support the needs of all children. We will have a wellbeing room and dedicated staff that will be available 5 days a week
- Connections - our community connections initiative will continue into 2024. We look forward to welcoming new community members to St Joseph's in 2024
END OF YEAR GATHERING - Thursday 7th December
RETURN TO MASS
It was great to return to the church this week. The children were respectful of the space that they have not visited for 14 months.
The teachers took most classes for a visit on Monday to familiarise the children with the new space.
Building Update
- Painting and joinery is going in at the moment
- Floor coverings will begin on Monday 27th November
- Classroom furniture will arrive on Friday 1st December
Images are labelled as 2022 classrooms
