Year 11 and 12

Updates for year 11 and 12 Students

Thanks to 2024 Senior School Students for a successful and productive Head Start period. Students moving to Year 11 and Year 12 in 2024 completed essential learning with their new teachers during this time to prepare them for a successful start to next year. The Senior School team is excited about working with these students in the year ahead.

Balancing Homework over the holidays 🗓

Completing VCE can be challenging and seem very overwhelming at times. To prepare to do well next year students must make time over the next two months to rest and recharge and to complete assigned homework. We have suggested that students plan their time so they can do each of these things. We recommend they start by working out when they will be away or spending time with family and friends. They may also need to account for work commitments. Students can then look at the time remaining and work out when they will complete the holiday homework.

Holiday homework will appear in Compass Learning Tasks.

SAVE THE DATE📅

We have a couple of key VCE events early in the year for students and families to be aware of. More details will be available via Compass events and newsfeeds.

Year 12 Big Day Out – Tuesday 6 February.

Students will travel to RMIT for the day and complete presentations and workshops designed to help them flourish in their final year of school.

Parents are invited to attend an evening session with a guest speaker at Sunbury College.

Transition to VCE Information Session for parents and carers - Monday 12 Feb at 6 pm

The move to VCE is a big change. To assist families in working out how VCE works at our College and how they can best support their child to succeed we will run an information session at our school on Monday 12 February.

Graduation 👩🏻‍🎓

On Thursday 30 November, the school celebrated the success and achievements of the 132 members of the Class of 2023. Students and staff were joined by family and friends for a special evening, beginning with our formal presentation followed by dinner and dancing. We are grateful that they were part of our school community and wish each and every one of them the best of luck for their future.
