At SFS, our PBL (Positive Behaviours for Learning) school wide expectations are:

Respect,

Responsibility and

Kindness

Our focus for this week and next is on RESPECT:  Listen and follow instructions in the Learning Space. It is important for children to practice listening attentively in class so that they can learn and know what is expected of them when completing work.

It was pleasing to see so many students already following our Learning routines last week and the behaviour of our children at the Assembly on Friday morning and mass in the afternoon was amazing. Well done to everyone.

Here are some of our lucky PBL raffle winners from last week who have been following our school routines and expected behaviours.

What an amazing time we had on Friday evening at the Twilight Welcome picnic. Christine from Bollywood Bling lead us in some great activities and demonstrated vibrant Bollywood dancing.

It was lovely to see so many of our students and families celebrating. We had a wonderful assembly on Friday morning also where we came together for the first time and the children shared their experiences and reflections of SWEL week last week.

What a beautiful start to our 2026 year!

Safer Internet Day

📅 Safer Internet Day is Tuesday 10 February 2026

Safer Internet Day is a global day of action dedicated to raising awareness of online safety. It is important that we have conversations with our children about how to be safe online especially at the start of a new school year. The following poster from the eSafety commissioner can be a good starting point for a conversation with children.💭 What will you be doing to help create safer, more positive digital spaces? #SID2026 eSafety.gov.au/SID

Lunchbox inspiration for parents, carers and schools

This week (Monday 9 - Sunday 15 February) is National Lunchbox Week, an initiative of Nutrition Australia that helps families and schools by:

  • inspiring practical lunchbox ideas and recipes
  • supporting positive lunchbox experiences for children
  • embracing the diversity of lunchboxes
  • promoting supportive, judgment-free conversations around food.

Involving children in lunchbox packing and promoting lunchtimes that foster connection

and conversation helps build a positive relationship with food and eating.

We know that every lunchbox looks different, and our practical resources provide reassurance for parents and carers. Our lunchbox tips and ideas have been designed with different budgets, cultures, family resources and individual preferences in mind.

This National Lunchbox Week let’s celebrate how every lunchtime is a chance to connect

and nourish us! Use the QR code to see the website which has lots or recipes and healthy lunch box inspiration!

Seasons for Growth

If any parents would like their child to participate in the Seasons for Growth program (experiences of loss and change), please come and speak with me or your child’s class teacher. I am going to be starting a Year 5 and 6 group after camp so forms will need to be signed and returned. If you would like some more information about this program, please send me an email, rlenko@sfslynbrook.catholic.edu.au or come and speak with me at school.

If you have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child or if your child has struggled to settle back in at school, please reach out to see how the school may be able to help or speak with me.
