Hello from Music

Hello from the Music Room,

Did you know listening to music activates the emotional and reward networks of the brain, while creating music unites multiple regions of the brain? Music is great for the growing brain no matter how you look (or listen) to it! 

We've jumped right into music making this term, with Prep students playing a range of instruments, the 1-4 students creating simple melodies on chime bars and the 5/6 classes practising rhythms on the drums. We've also been learning some new songs and creating musical games. Grade 3/4 S came up with a game to play along with the song 'Hop up My Ladies' and 1J and 2J thought it was great fun.

The 3-6 Choir will officially begin next week and I'm sure you'll know very soon if your child/ren have joined.
