Education in Faith

Ash Wednesday Mass

You are warmly invited to join us for our Ash Wednesday Mass this Wednesday 18 February at 9:15am in the church.

During the Mass, students and staff will receive ashes on their foreheads — a special sign that marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Lent is a time when we reflect, turn our hearts back to God, and try to grow in kindness, forgiveness, and love. It invites us to think about how we can be the best versions of ourselves and care for others in our community.

Families are always a treasured part of these celebrations, and we would love for you to join us if you are able. We look forward to sharing this meaningful occasion with you.

Project Compassion

As we begin the season of Lent, our school will once again support Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion, a campaign that encourages us to think of others and take meaningful action to help those in need.

Each homeroom will receive a Project Compassion box, providing students with a simple and practical way to contribute. Whether it is a few coins from their pocket money or a small family donation, every amount — no matter how small — combines to create real and lasting change for vulnerable communities around the world.

Our Social Justice Leaders will also be adding an extra layer of excitement by creating a fun incentive and reward for the homeroom that raises the most money. It’s a wonderful way to build community spirit while working together for an important cause.

Throughout Lent, classes will learn about the work of Caritas and the difference these contributions make, helping students grow in awareness, compassion, and social responsibility. We thank our families in advance for their generosity and support, and remind our students that when we all give a little, together we can achieve something truly significant.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

As part of their faith journey, many of our Year 3 students will soon be preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation in the Catholic Church. This special milestone will take place on Thursday 19 March at 6:30pm.

Reconciliation is a gentle opportunity for children to reflect on their choices, recognise when they may have made mistakes, and learn the value of saying sorry and making positive changes. It is an important step in supporting their personal and spiritual growth.

As they prepare for this occasion, we invite our community to keep these students in your thoughts and prayers and wish them every blessing as they continue along their faith journey.
