Celebrating Chinese New Year

This week many of our families are celebrating the Lunar New year and the children were very excited to tell us about what they were doing.  At Kinder, we provided opportunities for all the children to learn more about this special celebration through stories and play.  The celebration of lunar new year as well as other festivals and events during the year offers an invaluable opportunity for the children to explore different cultures, traditions and values.  By engaging in experiences the children not only learn about the significance of this festival, but also develop respect for cultural diversity.  It offers hands-on learning that also develops motor skills, encourages social connections and fosters empathy and respect for others.  We can’t wait to celebrate more cultural diversity throughout the year.
