Hello Prep Families,

Week 4 was full of fun!

Little Learners Love Literacy

This week in literacy, we met:

• Peter Penguin, who makes the /p/ sound

• Tim Turtle who makes the /t/ sound 

Encourage your child to say Peter’s sound, /p/, very quietly and try to not to distort it by putting an ‘uh’ sound at the end. Tim’s sound, /t/, is also quiet – support your child to place the tip of their tongue up high, just behind their teeth. Practise together.

Maths

This week, we looked at creating numbers up to 10. We rolled dice to work out how many eyes our monsters would have!

Inquiry

We read the book ‘Bear Says Thanks’ and practised retelling the story using stuffed toys. We spoke about how Bear and his friends showed the school value Compassion by using manners and sharing.

Buddies

This week we went to the library with our buddies! It was our first time visiting the libraryand we had fun reading lots of books.

Friendly reminders

• Homework readers need to be returned Thursday for the next 2 weeks and Friday moving forward.

• Last call for nurse notices - please hand them in by Friday. 

• Students must bring their hatsnamed to ensure we can return them to the right owner if they get lost.
