Meet your school councillors.

This week you can meet three more of our school councillors-

Jess White.

School Council Vice President.

Why did you join school council?

I joined School Council to give back to our school community and contribute to the school community.   

How long have you been a member of our school community/on the school council?

I think I’m 2 years into my school council journey and I’ve been a school mum since 2020 when Reuben started prep.  

Do you have any particular interests/hobbies?

I’ve met some wonderful parents at our school and really enjoyed working alongside them in the Parents and Friends club over the last year. It’s wonderful to see friendly faces in and around the school and the cool events they have organised like the Disco! 

How many children do you have at our school?

I have 3 boys at Violet st: Reuben is in grade 4, Q is in grade 2 and Clancy is in grade 1.

DET representative on School Council.

Why did you join school council?

I enjoy contributing to whole school decision making and like working with parents and community to improve our school.

How long have you  been a member of our school community/on school council?

This is my eighth year being on school council at Violet St. I have previously been on school councils at other schools as a DET employee and as a parent.

Do you have any particular interests/hobbies?

I enjoy reading, travelling and gardening. I have very recently returned from a wonderful trip to England, Scotland and Ireland.

How many children do you have at our school?

No children at this school and my children are all adults now!

Lorelle Hickson.

Why did you join school council?

I joined the school council in an effort to contribute and connect to the school community. It has been a huge privilege and very interesting to gain an awareness of all that goes into shaping this fantastic school. 

How long have you been a member of our school community/on school council?

This is my first year on the school council, and while I am still trying to find my feet, I am  really enjoying the experience.

Do you have any particular interests/hobbies?

My husband Mick and I own a small and very eclectic business where we get to immerse ourselves in a very diverse range of music, art, books and film which is definitely a big interest for us.

How many children do you have at our school?

I have 2 children at Violet Street; Hutch is in Prep this year, and Eadie is in Grade 3.
